Supermarket in Kalyves

There is a fairly large Synka supermarket at the edge of Kalyves. Here you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables, drinks, bread (also fresh), spices, but also fresh meat, cheese and olives.
Payment by card is possible.
There is a parking lot right outside the door, which is unfortunately a bit too small. But you can also park next to the supermarket. You can usually find a spot here.

Mini-market in Agios Pantes

There is a small mini-market in Agios Pantes. It looks a bit inconspicuous, but offers everything you need for everyday life. It has a reasonable selection of fruit and vegetables, fresh bread and local cheese products.

Mini-Markt Agrotikon in Vamos

The small mini-market in the village of Vamos has a small selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, a refrigerated counter with milk, cheese and yoghurt, and packaged bread. It's a bit limited for a larger purchase, but it's definitely enough for the next breakfast.

Butcher's shop and cheese factory

In Armeni there is an original butcher's and cheese factory. All the products are freshly prepared here every day. The homemade Mithitra cheese, the yogurt and the Graviera in different ages are particularly recommended. The staff are very friendly and are happy to let you try things. There is also homemade tzatziki and cheese paste with paprika.
In addition to sausages and kebabs, there are also pork skewers and chicken breast for grilling. You can also buy fresh eggs here.

Café Nektar (Vamos)

Vamos village cafe, located in the middle of Vamos. It offers a good selection of typical Greek desserts and ice cream, as well as coffee, frappe and espresso. There is also fresh bread. You can sit outside and watch the village life.

Bakery (Rethymno)

In the pedestrian zone of Rethymnon there is a bakery with a very large selection of very good baked goods. Be sure to stop by here.

The fresh bread at the back of the shop is very good, as are the delicious quark pockets. At the front there are freshly made loukomades and various filled dumplings. The bread stays fresh for a long time, so it's better to take a little extra with you.
